10/02/2008 - Blackburn, England (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Blackburn Rovers boss Paul Ince accepted that he will have to seek bargain buys in the January transfer window, as he seeks further recruits for his Ewood Park squad.
Rovers have made a solid start to the new season, with Ince having brought in Paul Robinson, Vince Grella and Keith Andrews in the summer, as well as adding Danny Simpson and Carlos Villanueva on loan deals.
"At this club we have to be looking at bargain players. We can't go out and buy players for [$17-26.5] million," Ince told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph. "So we have to look for another Chris Samba or another Ryan Nelsen.
"At the moment, the way the guys have been playing that long list (of targets) becomes a short list.
"It does not mean we don't need to strengthen because we still need to build. Villa spent [$106] million, Spurs [$105-123.5] million, but we can't do that. It is hard, but you have to try and find bargain players.
"We spent [$5.9] million ... on Grella as a midfield player. Everton spent [$26.5] million on one. It shows the vast difference between the money we have got."
