City earns draw with Hull thanks to Ireland's double

The visitors had the best opportunity over the final 30 minutes to win the match as Ireland flicked a ball into the box for Darius Vassell, but he shot straight at the keeper from 12 yards.

In Sunday's other contest, Everton got a goal from Ayegbeni Yakubu in the 65th minute to cancel out Gary O'Neil's opener eight minutes into the match, giving the Toffees a 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough.
